Conflict of Interest

Journal of Community Empowerment is always committed to maintaining objectivity, transparency, independence, and integrity in the scientific publication process. Conflicts of interest can arise when financial, personal, academic, or other relationships that influence the assessment and decisions related to the publication process. Therefore, all writers, editors, and reviewers are obliged to avoid conflicts of interest in the editorial process and manuscript review.

Conflict of Interest by the Editor

In this regard, the Editor is obliged to disclose conflicts of interest that may affect the independence of manuscript handling, including research collaborative relationships, close institutional relationships, personal relationships, professional competition, financial interests, or direct involvement in the writing of articles that are considered to hinder the objectives of manuscript review.

Editors who have a conflict of interest with the author, are not allowed to make editorial decisions or affect the review process of the relevant manuscript. The handling of the manuscript must be transferred to another editor who is independent and does not have a conflict of interest. The editor is also obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the information obtained during the editorial process and must not use unpublished information for personal or other interests.

Conflict of Interest by Reviewers

Reviewers are required to inform the editor if they have a relationship or interest that may affect the objectivity of the assessment, including collaborative relationships, employment relationships, personal relationships, academic competition, financial interests, or involvement in research and/or articles under review.

If a conflict of interest has the potential to interfere with the independence of the review, the reviewer must decline the assignment or immediately notify the editor of the condition. The editor may cancel the assignment and appoint a replacement reviewer. Reviewers are also prohibited from using information obtained from unpublished manuscripts for personal gain, self-research, or the interests of others.
